Direct entry of frequencies is as simple as pushing the numbers and does not require any preliminary "entry keys" as do some other models. SSB has an actual BFO dial (like models in the old days) which I like. The main tuning dial is very smooth and does not "mute" while changing frequency as many other models annoyingly do. Rechargeable AA batteries are supplied, along with a charger, and I find the full charge to be very long lasting. The radio has a quality feel to it as compared to the more lightweight and "plasticky" feel of other radios I tried.
