For fast performance and efficient data transfer when connected via eSATA, the docking station supports full SATA III transfer speeds up to 6 Gbit/s. For universal compatibility, the enclosure can be connected via USB 3.0, supporting transfer speeds up to 5 Gbit/s and UASP. UASP is up to 70% faster than a traditional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled host controller to take advantage of the full performance of SATA III hard drives. The hard drive docking station supports the fastest drive technologies, such as SATA III (6 Gb/s), hybrid drives, and solid state drives (SSD), saving you time by getting the best performance from your drive. With an additional SATA to IDE hard disk adapter (SAT2IDEADP), you can expand the functionality of the docking station and insert any 2.5 or 3.5 inch IDE hard disk in a SATA hard disk docking station. Improved performance with UASP UASP is supported in Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or later), and Linux. In tests, UASP shows 70% higher read speed and 40% higher write speed compared to a conventional USB 3.0 at peak performance. At the same peak, UASP also shows a 80% reduction in required processor resources in the test.
