The Hults Bruk Akka is a versatile†forest professionalís axe of choice. Additionally, the Akka is not an axe intended just for swinging, the straight knife ground edge, long beard, and finger notch for choking up near the neck, make carving and bushcraft tasks easy to perform. With an overall weight of 2.2 lbs. the Akka is easily strapped to a backpack, becoming a trusted companion during any backcountry excursion. As with all Hults Bruk axeís the Akka's axe head is hand forged in Hults Brukís 322-year-old forge. Swedish carbon steel is stuck 70 times to create the shape and density required to meet Hults Brukís exacting standards. The hardened and tempered zone of the axe head has a hardness of HRC 55, resulting in a durable razor-sharp edge even after repeated sharpening's. The hand sanded straight handle is made of solid American hickory, a wood sought after by tool makers for its unique combination of strength, hardness, stiffness and shock resistant properties, and is protected and conditioned by multiple coatings of linseed oil.
